Gratitude
Someone asked me how I was doing this morning, and I realized how happy I've been. Here is what came through.
Tiptoeing around my beautiful little 500-square-foot house last night, so as not to wake the sleeping cats and Stephen, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude wash over me. Ohhhh…this is luscious. What is this feeling in my heart?
Gratitude filled me, and I almost couldn't bear it, about to pick up my phone to scroll. I did not.
Taking an inventory of my life, this is what I came up with;
I have nothing to worry about,my mind whispered to me. The cool air wafted through the screened windows, and the smell of Colorado pines entered my nose. I dropped my polyester turquoise robe, which is always too hot in the summer and never perfect in the winter. Sitting naked on the couch, chamomile tea in my hand, I closed my eyes, feeling the sweet house I live in, the beauty it holds, and the feeling of energetic love that Steve and I created together.
I'm healthy right now.Scanning my body, I realized that nothing is screaming at me from this sixty-seven-year-old body. I felt supple and strong at the same moment.
Money is flowing at the moment. Most of my life, the lack of money has been at the forefront of my mind. But to tell you the truth, I have never suffered. Always having enough food, a place to live, and squeaking by paying my bills. The worry comes from inheriting my dad’s worry. I never really had to worry, but I took that on anyway. Checking again into my gratitude barometer… money is o.k. Not that I could live on what we have until one hundred, but I don’t want to live until one hundred unless my body cooperates like this.
Nothing to worry about, and trust rushed over me, followed by gratitude like a warm blanket, once again.
Our daughter? Of course, this always brings up lots of feelings. She is moving out. I'm scared for her and happy. I'm worried and trusting. I'm proud of her and think she’s crazy. But really, Mira, you were in India at twenty-three and didn’t have a penny to your name. She’s really much more mature than I was back then. Good barometer to think back on where I was at her age.
My Book! I see the finish line! Writing my memoir has been healing and introspective. I do not know when it will be done or how I will publish it. That will come at the right time, just like everything else has been happening. All I know is "It's the journey that counts." I'll let you know when it's ready to go out in the world.
And my work? I could not think of better work for me to be doing at my age and who I am right now. Breathing with people, feeling their hearts, tuning in to the wisdom that comes from a very long, deep, and miraculous life. Just loving, being, and sharing. Wow! How did this manifest so beautifully with such ease?
I know the answer to that… I follow guidance, and I'm getting better at it as I live each day. Not from the mind, but from my inner Soul, my heart, and whoever else is whispering through my transmedium channels. (doing lots of psychic work with Janet). I love my work, and it is so obvious that it serves both people and me. I am busy, and it pays me well.
I keep trusting that the Souls who need my love will sit with me either in person or over Zoom. And I need them as well, because I need to serve as I age. What else is there to do in this human flesh body?
Stephen and I are still deepening, and that is a miracle in itself. How? After 43 years, we are still learning, giving, growing, and happy. I can’t even question that one. I'm just soaking up the love we have and grateful every day.
I think gratitude is a muscle that we have to build strong. I know that this quiet, precious moment in my life is not always going to be here. It can’t, and I'm ok with that.
Because when life is dramatic, it's where I learn to trust.
And when life is calm, I learn to breathe it in like last night, and take a breather from life’s crazy roller coaster.
